![]() ![]() I love her creative, sometimes overly literal, and funny takes on all these existing stories. The author branches out some from spoofing fairy tales and even touches on at least one well-known children’s song in this, which was just as well done and amusing as everything else on which she’s drawn. His whining and complaining–along with his out-of-control enchantments/side-effects of magic with which he wasn’t supposed to come into contact–is hilarious the whole way through. While Killer is annoying as all get-out, I think he is also one of my favorite characters. A rabbit-turned-gigantic-donkey named Killer joins their troupe, and oh boy does Killer’s own little storyline go off the rails! Mendanbar’s magical sword has gone missing, and the comrades set out on a quest to track it down. This book follows Morwen, the witch who lives in the Enchanted Forest with her nine cats, as she, Cimorene, and Telemain (along with a slew of others) discover that the wizards are wreaking still more havoc in the forest. Calling on Dragons, the third book in the Enchanted Forest Chronicles, keeps the good times, action, and laughs coming! ![]()
